Unfortunately, frustration is something that everyone must deal with from time to time. The way that a child learns to handle this can impact how he or she reacts as an adult. It is important that children learn effective coping mechanisms from a young age.

As the saying says, 'don't sweat the small stuff', teach this to your child. Knowing how to let go of things that are unimportant is a great step in learning to deal with common every day annoyances. Learning to ignore the small things that do not matter is one way to cut back on these negative feelings.

Admit to what you feel and refuse to continue. If you are dealing with another person who knows how to push your buttons, put a stop to it. Let the person know what you feel and that you refuse to continue. Then stick to it.

Exercise. Getting your body moving whether it is walking, jogging or getting on the treadmill will help. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, these make you feel good. Your negative thoughts and feelings will be gone. Leaving you better able to cope with the difficult situation that had you upset in the first place. You also will have burned off some calories and did something that was good for your health.

Teach the art of letting go. Not everything warrants the effort it takes to become upset or stressed. Some things are not that serious. Be silly, dance around the room, sing a song, or run to burn off some energy. This will usually banish the negative emotions that you are feeling. They will be replaced with positive ones.

Knowing how to deal with Frustration when you are young, helps you handle it much more effectively when you are older. As you get older and issues become more serious and complicated, you will be able to look back on the skills you learned as a child and apply them as an adult. Having these skills will make life a lot easier.
